Cooperation with
Meyer Burger

Cooperation with Meyer Burger

Meyer Burger, a leading European manufacturer of premium solar modules, and Solarnative GmbH, developer and producer of the innovative “PowerStick” micro-inverter based on its patented high-frequency technology, announce their cooperation in the balcony power plant market segment. The aim of the cooperation is to bring a high-quality balcony power plant ‘Made in Germany’ to the market that stands out from other offerings in terms of functionality, quality and aesthetics.

Balkonkraftwerk

The two manufacturers share the common goal of advancing the private energy transition and at the same time strengthening the photovoltaic industry in Germany and Europe. The market for private PV systems is booming – in Germany alone, the targets for annual net installation have increased more than sevenfold from the original 3 GWp to 22 GWp. With their cooperation, both companies are taking an important step towards realizing their vision.

In the dynamic market for plug-in solar systems, the shared balcony power plant is set to assert itself thanks to its special quality features. In contrast to conventional solutions, where several solar modules share a common inverter, in the Solarnative system each module is controlled individually to maximize the energy yield. Another special feature is that the locally permissible feed-in power (currently 600 watts in Germany) is not limited by the power value of the inverter, but is regulated by the control unit supplied with the balcony power plant, the IntelliGate Balcony. This makes it possible for the first time to install a flexible number of solar modules for plug-in solar systems, regardless of orientation and inclination. Over-the-air updates ensure that the power limit of the photovoltaic system is automatically increased accordingly when the minimum level is raised to 800 watts.

Meyer Burger solar modules are particularly sustainable and climate-friendly and are manufactured in Germany in accordance with the strictest social and environmental standards. They are free of forced labor and completely free of the toxic substances lead and PFAS. With maximum durability and industry-leading product and performance guarantees of up to 30 years, they deliver more energy yield per square meter.

Another special feature in the balcony power station segment, which has so far been dominated by Chinese manufacturers, is the data security of the domestic balcony power station, which is guaranteed by the Solarnative app supplied and the local server location in Germany.

Both premium manufacturers are also characterized by the special aesthetics of their products, which also and especially satisfy more demanding customer groups.

“The partnership with Solarnative enables us to combine our high-quality solar modules with innovative electronics and offer a first-class balcony power plant,” says Gunter Erfurt, CEO of Meyer Burger. “Together we are setting new standards for decentralized energy generation and are making a contribution to the energy transition ‘Made in Europe’.”

“We are delighted to be working with Meyer Burger to bring a premium balcony power plant to the market,” says Julian Mattheis, CEO of Solarnative. “Our common goal is to offer consumers a first-class and sustainable solution for decentralized energy generation that meets the highest standards of quality, aesthetics and functionality.”

The ‘Made in Germany’ balcony power station will be available in Meyer Burger’s own online store at the end of March and offers consumers an efficient and sustainable way to generate their own electricity.
