IntelliGate

The Solar­na­tive Intel­li­Gate is the con­trol unit of your PV sys­tem and the entire Smart Ener­gy Home. It receives infor­ma­tion and per­for­mance data from all devices in the sys­tem and sends it to the Solar­na­tive Cloud for pro­cess­ing and super­vi­sion. The data is fed into the Solar­na­tive app to allow real-time mon­i­tor­ing of the PV sys­tem and all oth­er devices, such as an EV charg­er or a bat­tery system.

Each 1‑phase string of Pow­er­Stick micro-invert­ers is con­nect­ed with a Solar­na­tive Intel­li­Gate. In a south-fac­ing ori­en­ta­tion, up to 13 Pow­er­Sticks can be con­nect­ed to each Solar­na­tive Intel­li­Gate in a self-lim­it­ing 20 A string. In an east-west ori­en­ta­tion, the num­ber increas­es due to the low­er amper­age per module.

Each Intel­li­Gate comes with a Solar­na­tive Ter­mi­na­tion Cap that is attached to the open con­nec­tor of the last micro-invert­er to close off the string. Sev­er­al Intel­li­Gates can be com­bined in a mas­ter-slave con­fig­u­ra­tion to form a com­pre­hen­sive PV system.

Thanks to its smart con­nec­tiv­i­ty con­cept, the Solar­na­tive PV sys­tem does not require WiFi con­nec­tion or data cables. The Solar­na­tive Intel­li­Gate is con­nect­ed with the Pow­er­Stick micro-invert­ers using pow­er-line com­mu­ni­ca­tion. All oth­er devices in the sys­tem are con­trolled over an autonomous wire­less LoRa WAN net­work that can eas­i­ly reach into the base­ment or the garage to exchange data with every sys­tem com­po­nent. Cloud con­nec­tiv­i­ty is pro­vid­ed via WiFi.

Dur­ing com­mis­sion­ing, the Solar­na­tive Intel­li­Gate enables a smart device detec­tion func­tion­al­i­ty all­wo­ing installers to per­form a sys­tem check even before the PV sys­tem is con­nect­ed to the grid. Thanks to an auto­mat­ic map­ping func­tion, there is no need for scan­ning or col­lect­ing the bar codes of the indi­vid­ual micro-inverters.
