Each ACB‑0.9 and ACB‑1.8 is equipped with its own bi-directional inverter. Based on Solarnative’s proprietary high-frequency technology, the AC Battery is using a unique single-cell technology, where each battery cell is controlled individually by its own inverter.
With this approach, there is no danger of cell mismatches and resulting overheating. Each cell is always operated in its optimum working condition. This leads to unprecedented safety and cycle life.
The ACB building blocks can be combined in 1‑phase or 3‑phase systems, which are controlled by a Battery control unit BCU.
Each BCU controls the ACBs via power line communication and communicates with the other devices in the Smart Energy Home via LoRa.
The system is grid-forming and provides true 3‑phase back-up functionality, so that the Smart Energy Home can be operated as an off-grid system as well.
With its modular approach the AC battery systems features a superb charging / discharging efficiency over a wide power range. Even low base consumption of 100 W during the night is provided at maximum discharging efficiency.
