Our inverters are built for unprecedented reliability. Failures rates depend on the number of components in the product because each component has a certain probability of failure. Therefore, we drastically reduce the component count. Compared to competitors, we only use half the number of components. We are able to do so because of our high degree of chip integration (chips are more reliable than discrete components) in two proprietary ASIC chips. Also, we focus on the quality of the components. Whenever possible, we use highly reliable automotive certified components with particularly high quality.
The failure rates of most electronic components depends exponentially on the temperature. When reducing the temperature by 10 °C, this means a doubling of lifetime. Knowing this correlation, we pushed the thermal design of our inverters to the limits. Every little feature is designed to reduce temperature inside the inverter and to facilitate the heat flow out of the device. With their characteristic linear shape and Aluminum housing our inverters are designed for almost perfect heat transport.
By means of our proprietary high-frequency technology, we were able to miniaturize our ivnerters in such a way that they fit nicely into the frame of the PV modules or into the Aluminum rails of the mounting structure. We thereby take advantage of the biggest possible cooling fans. In total, our device temperature is reduced by 20–30 °C, thereby increasing the life time of the products by a factor 4–8! As a result, our devices almost never fail.
While we are doing everything possible to avoid problems and failures, we still want to make life easy for installers for the unlikely event that something still goes wrong. Therefore, our systems can completely be monitored and maintained from remote. All software settings can be configured over-the-air.
